• Thanks to a generous endowment by Gordon and Marilyn Macklin, Montgomery College is able  to offer our outstanding business transfer students a very special program.

• After completing your first year of work in one of our business transfer curricula, you will enter a sophomore-year program which will include honors work in economics, statistics and other core business courses.

• Each student will be assigned a faculty mentor who will provide guidance and share knowledge leading to success in school.

• A mentoring relationship with a local corporate executive will also be created for each student who participates in the Institute program. The program will also include an internship where the student will be offered a real-world view of corporate business in action.

• Graduates of the Macklin Business Institute program will receive an A.A. degree and are encouraged to set their sights on a premier four-year college or university for transfer and completion of their baccalaureate degree. Whether your choice is the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland , College Park, or any other targeted institution, you will receive assistance in the transfer process and will have a great chance for success in being accepted to the school of your choice.

• Students admitted to the program will be provided with the use of a laptop computer, and U.S. citizens and eligible noncitizens may be offered a scholarship that covers up to the full-time, in-county, cost of tuition and fees
  (to a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester).
