Patrick Byrne is the chairman, CEO and president of Overstock.com.  He is also the general partner of High Plains Investments LLC, an investment company located in Park City, Utah, which holds assets in excess of $150 million, and serves on the boards of White Mountains Insurance Group and Atlantic Aviation.

                Previously, Byrne was chairman, president and CEO of Centricut, LLC, worldwide supplier of high-quality plasma consumables, where he strove to improve and create new products to help those in the metal fabricating industry run their operations more safely, efficiently and profitably.  He held the same three positions at Fechheimer Brothers, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway operating company.

                Byrne is a multi-faceted individual, having received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree from Cambridge University as a Marshall Scholar, and a doctorate in philosophy from Stanford University.  A dedicated philanthropist and three-time cancer survivor, he biked across country last summer to raise awareness for cancer research.  Additionally, Byrne is an accomplished linguist, a published author, a former pro boxer and a black belt.
